Abstract
This study aims to improve students’ anecdote writing skills through the implementation of the Genius Learning strategy in class X ATPH at SMK Negeri 3 Alasa for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 32 students. Initial findings indicated low interest and ability in writing anecdotal texts, with an average pre-action score of 64.53. Students experienced difficulties in generating ideas and lacked engagement due to monotonous learning methods. The Genius Learning strategy was applied through stages such as creating a conducive learning environment, connecting prior knowledge, providing a big picture, setting goals, delivering material, activating understanding, and reinforcing learning. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ writing skills, with average scores increasing to 75.58 in Cycle I and 85.00 in Cycle II. Additionally, improvements were observed in students’ learning engagement, attention, and participation. The findings conclude that the Genius Learning strategy effectively enhances students’ anecdote writing skills and creates a more engaging and enjoyable learning process.
