Abstract

The water level in the river is one of the parameters that need to be measured to detect flooding early. The low awareness of a person in terms of monitoring and opening floodgates when they exceed the limit, floodgates generally open and close manually, making someone have to check or come directly to the location. This makes it difficult for someone to know how high the water level is and if the water level has exceeded the limit someone will open the floodgates manually by coming directly to the location. The goal is that this tool can help make it easier for someone to know how high the water level is from the distance and can open and close the floodgates automatically. The design of floodgates using Internet of Things (IoT) technology uses hardware in the form of a Wemos D1 which functions as a data processor from the floodgate and uses a Water Level sensor that functions to detect water levels. While the software used uses the Bylink application to receive water level notifications. This research was conducted using the prototype method as a system development method, because the prototype method in system development is suitable for use in systems that want to be completed quickly. With this tool, the operator does not need to visit the location of the floodgate every time the water level has exceeded the limit so that it can facilitate the operator in controlling the floodgate.
